FAQS about the Year-End Giving Circle!
What is a Year-End Giving Circle?
New Legacy Lab defines a Giving Circle as: :"When a group of donors come together to pool their individual dollars and resources towards collective impact."
Who should participate in the Giving Circle?
We welcome giving at any amount AND the New Legacy Lab Giving Circle is tailored to individuals who identify as having access to wealth and want to give BIG for the Year-End!
This will be an intergenerational space. We encourage you to invite your family and beloveds to join you in giving!
What happens at the Year-End Giving Circle?
The Year-End Giving circle is a celebration of collective giving!
Together, over 90-minutes, we will:
Engage in facilitated conversation about our year-end giving
Learn about awesome social justice and community-based organizations
Mobilize individual dollars to create HUGE collective impact for six selected organizations + additional organizations suggested by participants
How were this year's beneficiaries selected?
This year, New Legacy Lab worked in collaboration with local change-makers, Monet Marshall, Manzoor Cheema, and Karen Tarkulich to nominate and select orgs that we think are responding to this specific moment on the clock of the world.
Our process included creating a matrix of focus areas we think are critical based on our unique work/perspective, nominated orgs in those categories, and working collaboratively to reach consensus on a group of six organizations for this year’s giving circle.
What if an organization I am interested was not selected as a beneficiary of this year's Giving Circle?
Year-End Giving Circle participants are invited to add organizations they care about to our "Additional Organizations" list. This list will be shared in a "One-Pagers" packet shared with all participants in advance of the event.
Any giving to these organizations will be included in the grand total for giving. However,
How can I participate?
We also welcome asynchronous engagement - if attending on December 10th from 7 - 8:30PM is not possible for you!
this event is free and open to the public!
