This intergenerational gathering of 11 donors - ages 27 - 70 - at the beautiful Cassilhaus among the "Quilting our Stories" exhibit curated by Resource Center for Women for Ministry in the South (RCWMS) to talk openly and courageously about our giving practices.
Throughout the evening, we shared our stories, allowed ourselves to feel inspired and curious, named our discomforts, offered resources and ideas, and built new connections. Together, we grappled with awkward questions that feel hard to ask in most other settings because grappling with these questions in community IS how we become more bold, creative, and values-aligned in our giving.

During this participatory event - co-hosted by the brilliant cultural organizer Monet Noelle Marshall - we expanded our collective understanding of cultural organizing through conversation with Triangle NC-based artists and cultural organizers Derrick Beasley, Mike Williams, and Omisade Burney-Scott. There were opportunities to connect and engage with other donors, funders, and cultural organizers, and explore how to engage in a giving relationship to support this transformational work.

Check out the 3-part blog series "Stewarding a Giving Relationship: A Spectrum of Possibility" Monet & Hilary co-wrote in complement to this event.
An intimate backyard garden dinner with Triangle NC based Next Generation Donors (i.e. donors who bring a new orientation to giving) to discuss our giving practices and imagine together how to support our continued giving.
